My Pre test Recount

For school my class [yr 6] had to write a pre test on our trip toTaronga Zoo. My school went to the zoo to celebrate BOOK WEEK. here is my Recount pre test:

Pre test, Recount: The trip to Taronga Zoo.

On the 25th of August 2009, my school, went to Taronga Zoo to celebrate ‘book week’. The theme this year for book week was ‘Safari’ so everyone in the school dressed up to do with the theme.

At 9:00am the school marched down to Thames Street Warf to catch two ferries to the zoo. Half of the school took one ferry and the half took another. Soon after, we arrived at the zoo and headed for our meeting point concert lawns. At the concert lawns we had something to eat and headed off to see the seal show.

At the seal show we saw Mitchy, Marlie, Lexie and Ronny [the seals] perform amazing tricks. After that, my class year six went to a place called ‘the village school’ to learn about endangered species and how to protect them and help stop them from being extinct. At the village school we also got to pat endangered animals and learn about were they live, why they are endangered, how can we help protect them? Some of the animals were:
· Possum
· Corn snake
· Frog and
· Bandicoot

After that we went to see the ‘wild Asian tour’ and saw an elephant show which had elephants performing their daily tricks and play time. Straight after, we all sat on a statue of an elephant to have lunch.

As our last activity for the day, we all walked around Taronga Zoo and saw:
· Lions
· Tigers
· Meerkats
· Snow Leopard
· Monkey and
· Bear
Later on, we all walked back to the Warf next to the zoo and caught the ferry back to the school. We got to the school five to ten minutes late although, it was worth it. I had a really fun day and I wish we could do it again.
